I know that the lawn tractors at Home Depot are made to compete with the lower quality tractors, but why are the horsepower rates higher than those of the x300 found at the dealer? Even the smallest L-series has more hp than the x-300. Is the Kawasaki engine that good? Just curious as I will probably be buying an x300 within the next week. Also, has anyone done any comparisons between the JD x300 and the T-series Kubota mowers? more

Resolved Question: Whats the best for us?

I've had a large lot from my family for a long time...all grass and almost 40 acres. I'm building on it and my companion, who loves large lawns, wants a good tractor and mower to keep it nice and groomed and she's good at it. We have a 42 inch craftsman ( WAY too small) that she says sucks and won't do it. LOL We looked at a johndeer and a kubota both with 3 big hydraulicaly raised and lowered decks. They are both very expensive. Which one is better and would they let me add the cost into the financing of the house I'm building as an essential piece of equipment to maintain my property? And YES, albeit very cute and petite, she's VERY capable of handling heavy equipment! LOLThe house isn't going to be very big (2870 sq ft) and the land has a small pond that covers a little patch of it.All things said, money is an issue...I don't want to go broke buying a tractor and mower.I also know Kubota has one of the best track records for reliability. more

Resolved Question: Riding lawn mower or atv with pull behind mower??? NorTrac tractors??

I am trying to figure out which way to go. I have heard of people having an ATV/4 wheeler and getting a pull behind mower and tiller(self powered), also a snow plow. Are there ATV's with PTO's?? What size engine would you need to have. I have 3.5 hilly acres to take care of. Also considering a NorTrak tractor or a used kubota. I have been able to check out riding mowers but do not know about ATV's or small tractors. Any info would be appreciated. more

Resolved Question: how to put engine fan belt on a Kubota G6200 Lawn Tractor?

How do you put the fan belt over the pully dry shaft . Does the dry shaft split somewhere to get it over the pully. I don't have a instruction manual to help me. Hope that someone can help. more

Rather than purchase a new unit I'm looking for a used one--I like the Kubota tractors--they appear to be of a comfortable size. These units are expensive and I am looking for a used unit of some type. Some say, stay away from those tractors that are hard to get parts for as-Mitsubishi, Ford etc yet these units are the most common in the used market under 2,500.00. I can purchase a used (2yr. old),Husqvarna lawn tractor , 21hp w/48"cut for $900.00--is that appropriate-for 2.5 acres? more
